The coyote is one of the few animals with a habitat range that includes most of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexicon and North America.
As you can imagine, this noble creature is gifted with the ability to live in and visit many of the wonderful
places that you and I take for granted in our daily lives. Many Native American cultures revere
the coyote for it's wisdom, beauty and knowledge. I travel in many places far and remote to get the
wildflower, mountain and desert pictures you see in these galleries. In fact, you could say that many of my photography trips are
literally following the steps of the coyote.
Dave Rodenbaugh is a native of Colorado with over 18 years of photographic experience, starting with his experiences
in traditional black and white photography darkroom work in photojournalism and fine art. He is largely self-taught
but has been fortunate to have a couple of good teachers over the years to advance his craft to the level
you see today. Among Colorado photographers, Dave stands out as one of the finest currently practicing the art. His large format
craft creates stunning images of wildflowers, aspens in fall color, and dazzling sunrises over snow-capped mountains.
Dave has travelled extensively throughout the American West and Southwest but his favorite places
remain in his home state of Colorado and the neighboring states of Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona. He frequently visits
Moab, Monument Valley, Aspen's Maroon Bells and many national parks such as Rocky Mountain, Black Canyon of the Gunnison,
Sand Dunes, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Natural Bridges, Sonoran, Organ Pipe, Glacier, Arches, Zion and Canyonlands.
Coyote Images is my tribute to what we might see if we had the range, cunning, and good fortune
to run with these amazing animals. I hope you enjoy my photography - it is far more than a hobby
or a business to me. It's a way of life - a way of finding a connection with the natural Colorado world
around us. A way of expressing my deep love for the environment, for nature and sharing that beauty with the
rest of the world.
